Sprayer pump

I purchased a Mighty Mack (Mackissic) sprayer a couple of years ago and wonder how to environmentally clean and inhibit rust in the pump after each use? This is a Hypro twin piston pump and I believe my old friend Michael Phillips had the very same one many years ago.

I’m frustrated as the pumps are very expensive and no longer in production, so maintenance and care are key. The manufacturer recommends ethylene glycol after each use, but this type of antifreeze is toxic and not environmentally friendly.

Thanks in advance…I’m a newbie here!

I use RV antifreeze(Propylene Glycol) in my sprayer. It supposed to be less toxic. Car antifreeze is ethylene glycol.
